What you will do :

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an internship located in York, Pennsylvania. This internship is designed to provide you with positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. The applied equipment sound and vibration engineering team are subject matter experts tasked with supporting product development, sustaining engineering, and applications. The team is responsible for HVAC equipment sound testing and ratings, machine diagnostics, and instrumentation maintenance and calibration.  

How you will do it: 

  • Becoming familiar with AHRI sound standards.

  • Create a workflow to extract and compile factory acceptance test data, generating a database of chiller sound data.

  • Develop data analysis and visualization tools to improve sound rating algorithms.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts on existing test procedures and data analysis approach.

  • Support product sound testing in a world class HVAC test facility.

What we look for 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university 

  • Pursuing a degree in engineering or related science

  • Effective communication, especially technical details

  • Demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently

  • Programing and automation experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills  

  • Introductory knowledge of acoustics or vibration

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19.00 - $24.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
