Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon and just steps from Piazza San Marco, Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice is an iconic property offering elegant, spacious accommodations. The historic hotel showcases majestic Venetian architecture dating back to the 14th century. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of Venice’s landmarks from the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli.

About the Role:

The Sommelier elevates the dining experience through expert wine knowledge, personalized recommendations, and refined service. This role supports the restaurant’s beverage program while embodying the Four Seasons commitment to exceptional hospitality and guest engagement.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide expert wine recommendations, advise guests on pairings, and deliver engaging, personalized wine service.
  • Curate, update, and maintain the wine list, ensuring selections align with budget, outlet concept, and guest preferences.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day wine service, ensuring consistent delivery of Four Seasons standards and managing wine stock rotation.
  • Conduct staff training on wine knowledge and beverage program elements, ensuring excellence across F&B outlets.
  • Manage wine inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, cellar organization, and weekly/monthly stock counts.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to develop harmonious food and wine pairings that enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain strong guest engagement, responding to requests and offering confident, high‑level service at all times.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of sommelier or wine service experience in a luxury hotel, fine dining, or Michelin-starred restaurant.
  • Fluency in English and Italian
  • Certified Sommelier qualification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 2/3 (or equivalent certification) preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect authentically with guests and inspire your team
  • A refined sense of taste, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences through wine.

Schedule & Location:

  • Full-time position based at Hotel Danieli, Venice.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
