Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is currently looking for a talented Sommelier to join our Team!
This position provides an enjoyable and expertly served beverage experience conforming to Four Seasons standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness. The Sommelier creates and updates wine lists, makes recommendations on food and wine pairings, and advises guests on wines based on their tastes and preferences.
What you will do
Illustrate the wine list and other beverage items to guests by offering interesting and vivid descriptions.
Prepare beverages in accordance to the recipes standards, with correct garnishes, ingredients, portion size, method, in a timely manner.
Serve wines and other beverages in order to meet guest requirements and preferences.
Make recommendations on food and wine pairings based on guests’ preferences.
Maintain the appropriate levels of beverage stocks by monitoring purchases and sales, ensuring professional, efficient and accurate service of all types of beverage, but with a focus on wines, in order to completely satisfy our guests during their meal experience.
Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
Greet and seat guests in a professional manner and take reservations conforming to Four Seasons standards when needed.
Support the F&B Team with other service tasks when needed.
What you bring
A minimum of one year experience as Sommelier in a luxury environment and/or in a Michelin starred restaurant.
Excellent interpersonal skills, an outgoing personality and a can-do approach to any request.
A high level of wine knowledge, including an extensive understanding of wine making process, main wineries and wine regions.
Proficiency in using the Micros Operating System.
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Italian and English language.

Schedule & Hours:
Full time contract. This position will be required to work in shifts, as well as the ability to lift equipment, carry and balance trays.
Successful candidates must hold legal authorization to work in Italy at the time of application.
