As a Solutions System Engineer, you’ll lead how Elekta’s commercial and clinical platforms come together—integrating medical and non‑medical devices into cohesive, future‑ready solutions that keep us ahead in radiotherapy. You’ll translate deep workflow expertise into safe, effective, and secure configurations across the full technology and regulatory stack, shaping complex, multi‑dimensional products that work in the clinic and scale globally.
As a recognized thought‑leader, you’ll influence strategy, mentor engineers, and own design history files across the LSS portfolio—embedding Design for X (cost, reliability, quality, cybersecurity, sustainability, manufacturability) from concept through market release. If you thrive on complexity, cross‑functional collaboration, and turning innovation into real‑world impact for clinicians and patients, this is where your work will matter every day.
What you’ll do at Elekta:
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the overall design for systems of systems and commercial solutions to the level that these can be realised by project teams.
- Responsible for the safety of the solutions as design authority and has an accountable sign off for the hazard analysis reviews.
- Responsible for the development of a solutions roadmaps of all parts allowing decoupling of product lifecycle and features improvements, including scenarios planning to meet potential future product specifications, taking the dynamic nature of the medical devices markets into account.
- Collaborate with the Devices System Engineers, SW Architects, Advanced Development, the Clinical Application Development and Product Management, Procurement on the alignment between the product-, innovation-, technology- and domains roadmaps.
- Excellent understanding and command of requirements driven engineering including requirements formulation, requirements management and the overall requirements lifecycle
Responsible for the translation of stakeholder needs in solution requirements for new product development as wells as continuous engineering projects and programs
Develop innovative solutions with suppliers and partners and support strategic supplier relationships. - Define and accept work elements (epics, features) to realise product roadmaps.
- Support standards and processes for an effective solutions systems engineering.
- Coaches and supports agile teams and experts within Engineering teams with or without disciplinary authority on aspects of (Model Based) Systems Engineering.
- Advises on supply chain strategy and Make or Buy decisions at solutions level
Consulted on a regular basis by key stakeholders including the leadership team on solutions systems engineering issues. - Maintain and develop relationship with stakeholders within the company, with research and development partners to participate in strategic platforms development and contribute to Elekta competitiveness.
- Act as an escalation point for Engineering teams for complex and ambiguous problems whilst supporting the right level of ownership and empowerment for the Devices and SW Engineering teams.
- Finds creative solutions for complex and multi-dimensional problems involving interdependencies with strategic implications on Elekta LSS competitiveness.
- Contribute to the Definition of objectives for members of the Devices and SW Engineering teams.
- Contributes to technical due diligence in the context of commercial or strategic supply chain agreements or partnerships.

What you bring:

- First or master’s degree in an engineering, physics, or applicable technical/scientific discipline or an equivalent level of experience
- Several years of experience in leading systems engineering and architecting work for complex products configurations involving a very diverse technology stack, preferably in the medical devices industry
- Ability to apply system thinking to product ownership throughout the lifecycle
- Experienced in the application of system engineering practices taking the value creation for the customers and the company into account
- Medical sector specific knowledge is key, including ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 60976 and ISO 14971
- In-depth understanding of all forecasted technological developments of all important and relevant technologies and their application to the sector
- At least 10 years’ experience in a technical leadership position
- Good command of systems engineering and MBSE methods and tools
