WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
The goal of the EMEA Solutions Engineering (Presales) Team is to contribute to sales cases with existing and prospective clients by providing business and solution expertise to reach revenue targets and expand SimCorp’s profile across EMEA. As trusted advisors, the team members assist clients in making optimal decisions about their solution design.
You will be part of a team of more than 30 consultants across EMEA. In the role as Solutions Engineer Consultant, you will work closely with the Sales and Customer Success Management teams to understand the client needs and requirements. You will provide high quality demos, workshops and PoCs (proof of concept) in the Portfolio Management and Trading domains and convey the power of our solutions and services.
You will be reporting directly to the Senior Director leading the EMEA Investment Management and Execution Solutions Engineering team. The team does not operate in the traditional fashion of other large institutions, whereby dozens of graduates are hired every year; we are, instead, an established team of very senior specialists with many years of industry experience and are, for the first time, willing to invest in a recent graduate who will go the extra mile to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines. The role requires a high degree of responsibility and is very demanding, due to the criticality of the interactions that you will have with prospective clients and the short timelines involved. You will have the opportunity to interact with portfolio managers and traders across the largest financial institutions in Europe and learn how they work, how markets shape their decisions and how SimCorp’s platform helps them achieve their goals. You will also have the opportunity to present our solution to them and interact with SimCorp’s senior leaders sponsoring the sales opportunities you will be involved with.
SimCorp is used in 40 of the top 100 largest financial institutions worldwide, with a strong presence in the top 10. The core platform offered by SimCorp is SimCorp One, which enables these institutions to manage the full spectrum of the investment management process, from data acquisition, portfolio management and trading to accounting in one single platform.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Understanding in detail the portfolio management and trading activities of prospective and existing clients. This includes the portfolio construction techniques and strategies pursued by portfolio managers, and how to trade financial instruments in the market.
Collaborating with the research arm of SimCorp to understand the markets and how to position portfolios accordingly.
Contributing to and delivering SimCorp One presentations, demos, workshops, and proof of concept (POC) sessions to solve client’s needs.
Analyzing portfolio management/trading workflows and requirements of prospective clients and translating these into SimCorp solutions.
Mapping requests from customers with the product and services offered by SimCorp.
Providing high quality responses to prospective client RFIs (request for information) and RFPs (request for proposal) documents.
Effectively communicating the benefits and value of SimCorp's solutions to prospective clients.
Obtaining a thorough understanding of SimCorp's sales model and relevant processes.
Understanding the delivery of enterprise software solutions.
Gaining and maintaining knowledge of SimCorp's product and service portfolio.
Sharing expertise about the solutions devised.
