UnspecifiedRaytheon UK is searching for a Solutions Architect to join our OMNIA® Training team.
As Solutions Architect, you will be critical to the successful delivery of the programme, collaborating within matrix organisation, with multi-disciplinary teams. You will be responsible for designing and sustaining solution architecture that aligns with the Army Collective Training Service (ACTS) architectural vision.
The Solutions Architect must have a deep understanding of hybrid cloud solutions, systems integration with an open API approach and promoting data as a strategic asset. This role is pivotal in aligning technology with architecture vision and goals, ensuring secure, interoperable systems to drive data driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities:
Design scalable, secure and cost-effective cloud hybrid solutions aligned with Omnia enterprise architecture and Army training objectives.
Develop transitional solution architectures and road maps in alignment with Omnia digital transformation objectives, enabling delivery of integrated training solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to ensure architectural integrity and alignment.
Translate complex technical concepts for a non-technical audience, fostering understanding and buy-in from stakeholders.
Support horizon scanning to identify and assess emerging technologies and determine their potential impact on training delivery.
Contribute to the Omnia Architecture Change Board to define, refine, and uphold architectural principles, policies, and standards across Omnia Training.
Collaborate with DevOps and engineering leads to ensure an optimal tech stack.
Work with engineering teams to support and guide the implementation of a variety of solutions across multiple domains, in an agile environment.
Manage prototyping and research activity as required to realise the best solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a Solution Architect within a complex, hybrid cloud environment including IoT edge solutions.
Hands on hybrid cloud experience with an appropriate certification in a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
Experience and understanding of architecture modelling languages such as Archimate and UML.
Proficient in use of Sparx EA as the solution architecture tool of choice.
Experience with high-level design and low-level design, with proven ability to work with product owners and development teams providing technical leadership in an agile delivery environment.
Knowledge and understanding of micro-service architectures and container deployment and orchestration in a cloud environment.
Experience of application integration and promoting data as a strategic asset.
Passion for solving real-world problems with elegant, future proof solutions.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation.
Knowledge and experience of DevSecOps in a cloud environment.
Knowledge and experience in the application of AI solutions.
Knowledge and experience in the application of automation to drive productivity.
Experience of working in security clamped and controlled environments, including disconnected and classified systems.
Experience with Red hat OpenShift.
