Solutions Architect - Applied AI - Polygraph Required

Herndon,VA Full Time

About the Team

Here at BTI360, we’ve built a culture that’s passionate about developing software engineers. Software doesn't build itself. People do.  In fact, teams of people do.  That's why our primary focus is on developing better craftsmen, better teammates, and better technical leaders.  By putting people first, we're not just giving our teammates more opportunities to grow, we're also raising the bar of the software we ship. BTI360 previously has been voted 10 years in a row as a TOP Place to Work by the Washington Business Journal.

Build mission-focused AI solutions that matter.

At BTI360, we build software that helps mission teams move faster, operate more consistently, and make better decisions in high-stakes environments. We are looking for a Solutions Architect who can connect mission need to technical solution, someone who understands how national security work gets done, can build trust with customers, and can shape AI-enabled solutions that solve real operational problems.

This role sits at the intersection of mission, product, and delivery. You will help customers define the right problem, shape the right solution, and move opportunities from early engagement through proposal and into execution. You’ll lead technical pre-sales activity for a growing suite of applied AI offerings, helping customers understand what is possible, what is practical, and what will create measurable mission value.

You will also play a key role in facilitating post-award knowledge capture efforts. You will work with mission subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand mission workflows, decision points, and expert judgment. You will translate that knowledge into structured rules, workflows, and automation-ready artifacts that can be used by AI-enabled systems. If you are energized by mission impact, customer trust, and the opportunity to work directly with AI, this is the kind of role where your work can truly matter.

What you will do in this role:

  • Design mission-enabling customer solutions and technical approaches: Work directly with customers to understand their mission, workflows, pain points, data environment, systems, and operational constraints. Turn that understanding into high-value solution concepts and defensible architectures.
  • Lead technical pre-sales engagements: Partner with growth and product leadership to qualify technical opportunities, guide solutioning discussions, and help customers overcome mission challenges through practical solutions that enable mission outcomes.
  • Deliver compelling demos and technical narratives: Present AI-enabled capabilities in a way that resonates with every audience member in the room—whether that’s a mission user, a technical lead, or an executive stakeholder. Know when to go deep, when to stay high-level, and how to adjust in real time.
  • Develop solution artifacts: Create the materials needed to move opportunities forward and set delivery teams up for success, including solution blueprints, architecture views, technical response content, and transition-ready artifacts. Support proposal development: Contribute to RFIs, RFPs, white papers, and other technical growth artifacts. Produce compliant, credible, and compelling technical responses responsive to government acquisition environments.
  • Bridge pre-award to post-award: Ensure the customer vision and architectural intent are clearly handed off to delivery teams. Partner with technical delivery leaders to maintain alignment as solutions move from concept to implementation.
  • Capture mission tradecraft for automation: Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with customer subject matter experts to document business processes, analytic workflows, decision logic, and operational context.
  • Translate expertise into automation-ready artifacts: Structure captured knowledge into rules, workflows, logic statements, and related artifacts that can be refined and operationalized by technical teams.
  • Collaborate across product, data science, and delivery: Work with product leaders, applied AI engineers, and data scientists to ensure captured knowledge can be evaluated, improved, and used effectively in production environments.
  • Help grow a repeatable capability: Exercise thought leadership and contribute to reusable patterns and reference architectures, customer-facing assets, and a more scalable approach to mission solutioning and knowledge capture over time.

What You Bring to this Role:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.

  • Mission credibility: Direct experience working in or alongside the national security community, with a strong understanding of mission workflows, customer environments, and operational realities.

  • Customer trust and relationship strength: You build credibility quickly, communicate with confidence, and know how to engage technical, mission, and executive stakeholders.

  • Solutions architecture mindset: You know how to translate customer pain points, constraints, and goals into a coherent technical solution and architecture.

  • Thought leadership and technical perspective: You can articulate clear, experiencebacked points of view on applied AI, humanAI teaming, and mission architectures

  • Pre-sales / sales engineering experience: You’ve supported customer engagements, technical demos, solution shaping, or technical growth activities in a consulting, product, or government environment.

  • Proposal experience: You have helped develop or write responses to RFIs, RFPs, white papers, or similar artifacts in government or other highly structured procurement environments.

  • Audience awareness: You can read the room. You know how to tailor your message to the stakeholder, explain tradeoffs clearly, and communicate technical ideas in business and mission terms.

  • Knowledge capture and consulting skills: You are strong at interviewing SMEs, mapping workflows, organizing complex information, and identifying what matters operationally.

  • AI fluency: You are comfortable engaging around modern AI capabilities such as workflow automation, LLM-enabled reasoning, human-machine teaming, or knowledge-driven systems. You do not need to be the hands-on builder, but you do need to speak credibly about the value and practical application of AI.

  • Strong writing skills: You can create crisp technical narratives, architecture artifacts, and customer-facing content that is clear, persuasive, and grounded in reality.

  • Low ego, high ownership: You collaborate well, lead through influence, and care about doing what is right for the customer and the team.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience supporting highly secure or compartmented environments

  • Experience capturing or formalizing expert decision logic, tradecraft, or business rules

  • Experience with workflow automation, document-centric AI, or human-in-the-loop AI systems

  • Experience helping move emerging capabilities from concept to repeatable customer adoption
  • Familiarity with the realities of integrating modern software and AI into complex enterprise environments
