Job Description

Join our fantastic Presales DACH team as the Solution Architect!

The Solution Architect acts as a trusted technical advisor for customers and partners, ensuring that SUSE’s solutions align with their business and technical needs. You will work closely with regional sales and partner teams to drive technical excellence in solution design, positioning SUSE as a leader in the industry.

The role will leverage specialised knowledge to consult with customers, supporting sales presentations, product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical requests. Ultimately, success will be helping customers invest in the right solutions from the SUSE portfolio, giving them a competitive edge.

What You'll Do:

  • Trusted Technical Advisory: Engage deeply with customers to uncover technical and business pain points. Conduct thorough assessments to architect tailored solutions that address immediate challenges while supporting long-term strategic goals.

  • Technical Deal Leadership: Own the technical lifecycle of the sales process from qualification to closure. Champion the validation process by leading high-impact product demonstrations, technical presentations, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs), effectively neutralizing objections to showcase SUSE’s value.

  • Voice of the Customer & Product Influence: Act as a critical link between the field and HQ. Gather and synthesize customer requirements for Product, Strategy, and Engineering teams to ensure our roadmap, features, and messaging align with real-world market demands.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Field/Specialist Sales, Channel Partners, and Customer Success to build robust Account Plans. Drive solution adoption and ensure a seamless experience throughout the customer journey.

  • Market Presence & Thought Leadership: Support regional Go-To-Market strategies by participating in marketing initiatives, including technical blogs, public speaking engagements, and hands-on "Rodeo" workshops or event demonstrations.

  • Competitive Intelligence: Analyze competitor offerings to develop differentiation strategies, identifying and articulating SUSE’s unique advantages for specific enterprise use cases.

  • Bid Management: Lead the technical response for RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, ensuring all submissions are accurate, professional, and strategically positioned to win.

  • Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship: Foster a culture of learning by mentoring pre-sales peers, conducting internal training, and sharing insights on technical innovations and best practices.

  • Operational Excellence: Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene. Ensure all opportunity data—including Use Cases, Success Criteria, and Technical Close Status (TCS)—is accurate and up to date to support reliable business forecasting.

  • Continuous Professional Growth: Proactively advance your expertise in the SUSE portfolio and modern technical sales methodologies. Stay curious, embrace a growth mindset, and continuously sharpen your skills as a high-performing technical professional.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong experience in technical consulting, pre-sales engineering, or solution architecture, with a focus on enterprise software solutions.

  • Several years of practical skills with Linux systems, open-source software, and related infrastructure solutions, with experience in cloud native and container technologies like Kubernetes.

  • Fluent German and English, both spoken and written.

  • Proven ability to articulate complex technical solutions clearly and effectively to diverse audiences up to CXO level, translating technical concepts into business value.

  • Experience in creating technical demonstrations and whitepapers to illustrate product value through use cases.

  • Experience in designing and delivering complex enterprise solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

  • Exceptional consultative-selling skills, fostering meaningful customer relationships, guiding engagements, and serving as a trusted technical advisor through collaboration

  • Availability to travel up to 30-40% across Germany.
