The opportunity:

The Solution Architect is responsible for the design, integrity, and quality of the SAP solution within Service Management. They manage their respective stream in collaboration with the service provider for Level 2 (L2) incidents and coordinate with the product team on Level 3 (L3) changes. This role ensures that the SAP solution and services deliver the required functionality and meet business requirements. The Solution Architect manages delivery activities in their respective stream, as well as to the continuous optimization of service operations. They are accountable for managing workstream interdependencies, primarily—but not exclusively—across the assigned end-to-end stream.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Define the technical SAP solution, ensuring alignment with other modules and integrated applications through close collaboration with other Solution Architects.
  • Engage in requirements engineering to determine which needs are met by standard functionalities, which require enhancements, and which can be addressed through acceptable workarounds.
  • Ensure the designed solution aligns with SAP standards and enterprise architecture principles.
  • Business Demand & Functional Design
  • Support the validation and prioritization of incoming business demands in collaboration with project owners, business functions, relevant functional consultants, and third parties.
  • Translate functional designs into detailed functional and technical specifications; review and approve functional and technical use case documentation.
  • Communicate technical specifications effectively to developers, ensuring a shared understanding of requirements.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Participate in unit testing and provide support during user acceptance testing (UAT) and defect resolution.
  • Formulate rules, principles, and guidelines to guide the development of robust and compliant technical solutions.
  • Define and ensure compliance with non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, reliability, security) and operational standards.
  • Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Management
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, SAP innovations, and industry best practices, and share learnings within the SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE).
  • Ensure all solution documentation and training materials are properly created, maintained, and accessible.
  • Contribute to the optimization of service operations and the continuous improvement of existing SAP processes.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with users, business stakeholders, and project teams to maintain, develop, and deploy the most effective and cost-efficient SAP solutions and services.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Must have bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
  • Should have 10 years of work experience.
  • Advise users on current SAP processes, gather requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of SAP services within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to temporary work teams, sharing knowledge and monitoring progress, with or without direct line responsibility.
  • Demonstrate and promote the company’s core values of Safety and Integrity — taking responsibility for one’s actions while fostering a culture of care for colleagues and the business.
  • Strong decision making and issue resolution skills to make decisions in the specific process area.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
