Solution Architect - Networking/Security/Wireless

Summary

Provides pre-sales technical engineering support to Account Executives and clients as integral part of full sales process. Focuses on technical solutions for mid-size and enterprise accounts and works closely with clients to determine how Logicalis solutions can best serve their needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produces accurate designs and proposals for clients using Logicalis technologies, services, and methodologies. 

  • Conducts assessments, studies, and/or surveys to obtain data; analyzes data to advise and recommend solutions.

  • Qualifies, from technical perspective, new business opportunities or requirements within existing and prospective clients to ensure alignment with target markets, portfolio, and delivery and lifecycle services capabilities.

  • Writes Statements of Work (SOWs) for Logicalis Professional Services.

  • Designs and configures complex solution components.

  • Proposes elements, configurations, and implementation details of solution.

  • Prepares for and conducts client proof of concepts.

  • Prepares and performs product demonstrations.

  • Broadens engagements with clients by promoting, defining, and positioning Logicalis services from entire portfolio as appropriate to client requirements.

  • Advises service delivery team to ensure successful implementation of solutions.

  • Helps clients understand solution benefits.

  • Interfaces with vendor and manufacturer teams.

  • Provides product and/or solution training for Logicalis Sales teams and clients.

  • Mentors Logicalis team members.

  • Participates in increasingly complex client projects.

  • Keeps abreast of latest solutions and services Logicalis offers.

  • Establishes relationships with clients by demonstrating strong listening skills.

  • Builds credibility and trust by delivering what has been promised within established timeframes.

  • Participates in regional and national events and regional team meetings.

  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.

  • Supports and conducts self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.

Education/Experience/Technical Requirements/Certifications

Equivalent combination accepted.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, management disciplines, or related field.

Experience / Technical Requirements  

  • 4 years in technical pre-sales role with experience in:

  • Subject matter expert in designing and planning Data Center switching, routing and campus wireless solutions.

  • Cisco Commerce tools (CCW) and other solution design tools.

  • Experience with Juniper’s security suite (SRX Firewalls, SSE, Assurance and Threat Protection). 

  • Proficient knowledge of industry standard network and security technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, Packet Capture, network assessments, router/switch rack and stack and cabling, network configurations and etc.

  • 7 years of proven technical experience, including design, implementation, and support of Network and security, in the following:

    • Primary Expertise:

      • Juniper: EX, SRX, MX, Mist AI, Junos OS

      • Aruba: ClearPass, AirWave, Central, Mobility Controllers

    • Secondary Experience (preferred):

      • Cisco: Catalyst, Nexus, Meraki, ASA/Firepower, DNA Center, ISE

      • Palo Alto: Firewalls, Panorama, Prisma

      • Fortinet: FortiGate, FortiClient, FortiManager, FortiAnalyze

    • Additional skills:

      • Wireless controllers and access points

      • Security policy management (ISE, ClearPass)

      • MFA integration (e.g., DUO)

      • Cloud networking (Azure, AWS, OracleCloud)

      • Protocols: IPSec, STP, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, IPv4/IPv6

      • VMware vSphere/ESX administration

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience developing enterprise-wide solutions.

  • Experience combining products and services into technology solutions that meet client’s business needs.

  • Experience in business case development.

  • Consulting background focused on large multi-vendor networking and security solutions.

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications.

   

Certifications

Aruba:

  • Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) – Required

  • Aruba Certified ClearPass Expert (ACCX) – Preferred

  • Aruba Certified Network Security Associate (ACNSA) – Preferred

Juniper:

  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-Junos) – Required

  • Juniper Networks Certified Specialist (JNCIS-ENT or JNCIS-SEC) – Preferred

  • Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCIP-ENT or JNCIP-SEC) – Highly Preferred

  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert – Security (JNCIE-SEC) – Desired

Cisco:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Preferred

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise or Security) – Preferred

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Preferred

Palo Alto:

  • Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) – Desired

Fortinet:

  • NSE 4 – FortiGate Security – Desired

  • NSE5 - FortiManager & FortiAnalyzer - Desired

  • NSE6 - Specialized Security - Desired

  • NSE7 - Enterprise Firewall - Desired

Salary Compensation Range:  $110,000-$150,000 plus commission
