Solution architect

Bank Mendes Gans (BMG) is a niche bank for liquidity and information management services, providing customised global liquidity management solutions for multinational corporations around the globe. BMG serves its multinational client base with an integrated range of liquidity and information management services supported by a high level of professionalism and personal service. BMG is a full subsidiary of ING and is part of ING Wholesale Banking.

BMG is looking for an ambitious Solution Architect. As a solution architect in the IT domain, you ensure that the architectural direction of the ING IT capabilities (a.o. TPA, Techtonic, CTO direction) is aligned with the changing business needs and the agility of the BMG business. You will contribute to BMG reaching the next level of top-notch services and products for our customers in Cash Pool, Netting and In-house Bank by applying the ING architecture strategy for Tech in the Bank Mendes Gans domain.

The Team:

The focus of the solution architect is on translating the BMG business challenges together with Product owners, customer journey experts and engineers into IT solutions according to the ING architecture concepts. IT solution architects focus on the best solutions and apply the technology.

The other important role of the solution architect is to translate the design into road maps together with the product owners to realise the solutions.

The third important aspect is the close cooperation with the engineers on the realisation and enforcement of the ING/BMG architecture guidelines. The solution architecture also supports the dev/ops engineers to the next level of their professional career in the of skills and knowledge of the BMG technology.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• You contribute to the Bank Mendes Gans architecture. All in close alignment with our business, ING Tech and WB Tech architectural choices
• You focus on applying technology solutions and cooperation models to maximise the results for the BMG business
• You align closely with ING Tech and WB Tech stakeholders on developments like Techtonic, TPA, etc., to realise a close alignment between Bank Mendes Gans IT developments and ING Tech and WB Tech architectural developments by applying these standards
• You will support the development of (project) road maps for the realisation of the IT solution in close cooperation with product owners, customer journey experts and engineers.
• You cooperate with other solution-, infrastructure and data -architects to design the optimal IT solutions for BMG, considering the full IT stack and standard components like ING BTP

• 15+ years of professional experience as a software engineer or solution architect
• You have at least 6 years of experience working in an international Banking environment
• You have integral, cross IT domain knowledge and experience and significant knowledge of multiple environments (payment domain, platforms, products, architectures and technologies)
• You actively keep up your professional knowledge and translate external trends into applicable knowledge
• You are an expert with strong analytical skills, using state-of-the-art methods and techniques
• You influence opinions with valid business reasons and IT strategies
• You have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
