What you'll do:
You will bring expertise in secure software development and lifecycle process, complemented by strong knowledge in cybersecurity risk and audit processes enabling you to effectively define and assess the security posture of software vendors, and recommend actionable improvements. Your knowledge of industry security frameworks and best practices such as OWASP, NIST SSDF, ISO 27034 will strengthen the position to establish a comprehensive vendor risk and assessment process. You will work independently and on high-impact projects in fast-paced environments, with advanced expertise across cyber and IT security.
You will be responsible for
Define and maintain cybersecurity requirements for software vendors through its lifecycle aligned with secure software development lifecycle, cybersecurity best practices and regulations requirements.
Develop and conduct cyber risk assessments for software vendors.
Lead and perform cybersecurity audits and technical assessments to vendors to ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards and SDLC requirements, including Dev Sec Ops practices.
Conduct in-depth evaluation of software vendors security controls and drive remediation strategies based on risk and priority.
Create detailed cybersecurity reports with findings and gaps. Monitor actions to address findings until closure.
Develop and maintain audit and assessment templates, checklists, and scoring criteria to standardize evaluations across vendors.
Recommend improvements to policies and processes based on audit results, industry trends, and regulatory updates.
Ensure continuous improvement and robust protection across the vendor ecosystem.
Provide guidance to team members and act as the subject matter expert related to secure software and applications.
What you need to bring:
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience desired.
6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on secure software development and cyber risk assessment is desired
Certifications: Preferred (CISSP, CSSLP, or related)
Knowledge and Skills:
Must have experience developing and implementing systems, applications and tools security measures
In-depth Cyber and IT security knowledge, including IT risks, threats and prevention
Advanced understanding of modern software development methodologies
Experienced writing software using any modern language and technology stack, i.e Python, Javascript, and frameworks for building APIs and user interfaces
In-depth understanding of SQL and relevant scripting languages
In-depth security system analysis skills
Strong Knowledge of secure software development frameworks and controls (e.g., SLSA, NIST SSDF).
In-depth risk assessment and management skills
Deep understanding of cryptographic standards and methods.
Understanding OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices.
Excellent communication skills
Strong problem solving, analysis, and technical documentation.
