About the role:
As a Software Tester in Donor Information System (DIS) space under the Plasma‑Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will contribute to high‑quality product delivery by executing well‑structured testing activities across device‑integrated workflows. You will work closely with senior QA members, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to validate system behavior, identify defects, and ensure device‑data interactions meet functional and regulatory expectations.
You will actively support continuous improvement of testing processes, adopt modern methodologies including AI‑based test augmentation and data‑driven testing techniques and strengthen quality standards across the ecosystem.
Your role will be crucial in enhancing testing methodologies, maintaining standard operating procedures, and driving adoption of emerging technologies including AI‑assisted testing techniques and intelligent data analysis to increase test coverage and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure high‑quality product releases and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
This position aligns with the Testing & Validation Chapter of the ICC and will initially report to In‑Center QA Lead role for DIS.
How you will contribute:
Collaboration & Ownership
Work under guidance of the Senior QA while independently owning assigned testing tasks.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Development, Product, Device Engineering, and Business stakeholders for requirement clarification.
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily standups, refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives.
Contribute actively to quality discussions, raising risks and concerns early.
Test Strategy & Execution
Derive detailed test scenarios from requirements and technical specifications.
Execute functional, regression, integration, API, and negative test cases across device‑data workflows.
Support preparation of test plans, entry/exit criteria, and test readiness activities.
Assist in release readiness tasks such as validation checklists, defect triage, and UAT coordination.
Track quality KPIs such as defect trends, test coverage, and cycle completion metrics (with support from Senior QA).
AI‑assisted & Data‑driven Testing
Use AI‑based tools (where applicable) to:
Auto‑generate or refine test cases.
Identify high‑risk areas through ML‑driven pattern detection.
Analyze device payloads, logs, and datasets to derive scenarios, detect anomalies, and validate end‑to‑end workflows.
Automation & Tools
Contribute to automation development using Selenium, Tosca, JUnit, Copilot‑assisted scripting, or equivalent frameworks.
Maintain and update existing automation scripts for regression coverage.
Execute API testing using Postman or similar tools.
Use virtualization/simulation tools such as WireMock, Docker, or TestContainers (with guidance).
Perform log analysis and basic observability using ELK/Splunk/Grafana dashboards.
Use Test Data Management to create different data sets as per testing needs.
Performance, Security & API Testing
Support load/performance test execution using tools like JMeter (preferred but not mandatory).
Execute API‑level validations, schema checks, and error handling scenarios.
Assist in basic security testing aligned with OWASP guidelines (under Senior QA supervision).
Documentation & Reporting
Write and maintain test cases, test data sets, test scripts, and execution logs.
Document test results with clarity, accuracy, and traceability for audits and regulatory reviews.
Provide regular status updates to the Senior QA, highlighting risks, blockers, or dependencies.
Continuous Improvement
Stay updated with testing tools, methodologies, and AI/automation innovations.
Suggest improvements for test coverage, test data management, and automation workflows.
Foster a culture of quality through proactive communication and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent.
3–5 years of hands‑on experience in software testing.
Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
Experience with JIRA, Tosca, Postman, Jenkins (or similar equivalents).
Ability to write SQL queries for backend validation.
Familiarity with Git‑based version control.
Exposure to Agile delivery frameworks.
Basic familiarity with AI‑based testing concepts (auto‑generation, defect prediction, test optimization).
Ability to analyze device‑generated data (payloads, logs) to derive meaningful test insights.
Preferred requirements:
Experience with JMeter for load/performance testing.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
Understanding of DevOps concepts and how QA integrates into pipelines.
Familiarity with mobile testing frameworks (Appium, Sauce Labs, etc.).
Foundational understanding of security testing tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP).
