Position Summary:
The Software Test Engineer is responsible for verifying the functionality, performance,
and safety of PDM software applications in compliance with medical device regulations and
internal quality standards.
In his/her role, the Software Test Engineer is responsible for:
- Analyze software requirements and specifications for testability and provide feedback to improve their clarity and completeness
- Define and document test scenarios and cases aligned with software requirements and system functionalities
- Design and execute verification test protocols and document results
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and test results
- Identify, document, and track software anomalies and support root cause analysis
- Contribute to the definition of test strategies for complex features, including the identification of required test environments, tools, and interfaced systems
- Collaborate closely with developers, system engineers, and product teams to ensure complete and accurate verification coverage
- Report testing activities, results and anomalies using tools such as Azure DevOps
The following skills shall characterize an adequate profile:
- 3+ years of experience in software testing for desktop applications and complex, distributed systems, ideally in regulated environments such as healthcare or medical devices
- Strong knowledge of software requirements engineering, with the ability to review, validate, trace, and contribute to high-quality specifications
- Proven track record of creating and maintaining comprehensive test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices covering functional, non-functional, UI, integration, and regression testing
- Experience using Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar platforms for test planning, execution, defect tracking, and continuous integration
- Skilled in analyzing application logs, network traces (Wireshark/Fiddler), and system event logs to support root cause analysis and fast issue resolution
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, including writing and executing complex T-SQL queries for data validation, test data preparation, and backend testing
- Experience in test data anonymization, HIPAA/GDPR considerations, and working with PHI (Protected Health Information)
- hands-on experience in medical device software verification, including standards like IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11
- Experience working in Agile and hybrid environments, contributing to sprint testing, risk-based testing, and DevOps pipelines
- Bonus: familiarity with HL7, FHIR, DICOM, or other healthcare-specific data standards
- Fluent English
- Passionate for working in a multicultural environment and with strong commitment and orientation to the results
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- ISTQB Foundation level
