Software Security Engineer

Job Description Summary

The GE Healthcare AW team is looking for a Software Security Engineer to be part of our exciting journey to develop, maintain our security tools / security analysis for market leading medical visualization products. You will be responsible for collecting, delivering, sharing product related security information, and helping engineers in secure implementation. You will automate security processes by creating new tools / scripts, simplifying our security processes / tools or pull in AI where it is necessary.

Job Description

Main duties:

• creating, maintaining scripts, tools for security process simplification and speed-up security activities
• collecting, identifying the security threats, vulnerabilities and sharing the information with teams
• handling and delivering security related document preparation for releases
• executing and tracking security scans to identify vulnerabilities
• learn about the medical industry and security needs / expectations
• ensuring documentation integrity and quality for the program area
• working together with the team to extend tools / process with AI capabilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
• Relevant hands-on experience in software development or tool/service development
• Experience in any programming languages/tools such as Python, Go, Java (at least one)
• Skilled in breaking down problems and documenting problem statements
• Basic knowledge of cyber security
• Has the ability and experience to analyze and evaluate impact of changes, defects, threats
• Good knowledge of Linux system, Windows is a plus
• Interested in cyber security trends
• Cloud experience is ples
• Experience in breaking down problems and documenting problem statements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
