We have an immediate need for a Software Quality Manager for the Naval Air Missiles and Naval Systems & Sustainment Section located onsite in Tucson, AZ. You will lead a Quality Engineering team of direct report, individual contributors ensuring verification and validation of design, development, and integration of Raytheon’s digital products. Digital products include artifacts related to embedded code, simulations, firmware, and other artifacts as required by contract. Half of the team is in Tucson, AZ, while the rest reside in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

What You Will Do:

  • Program Execution Support – participate in all phases of software design and development. Ensure digital products have appropriate quality requirements identified and planned for.  Generate inputs to Software, Systems, System Integration and Test and other work products.
  • Product Continuous Improvement – perform independent evaluations/risk assessments of activities across the software development lifecycle. Drive continuous improvements by assessing product measures to instill continuous improvement and a data driven culture.
  • Product Integrity – ensure integrity of software products & drawings.  Monitor and authorize software test and release. Measure and analyze key software attributes.
  • Talent Development – performance development, coaching and mentoring, recruiting, skills development, and staffing forecast.
  • Process Improvement – improve and deploy Quality Engineering processes. Lead project activities to improve key processes. Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action planning. Partner with key stakeholders to improve product quality and process effectiveness.
  • Knowledge and Tools – provide personnel with knowledge and tools to improve product quality in areas such as code analysis, root cause corrective action, information assurance and development methodologies.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
    • Relevant experience is working in advanced technical principles during the software development process
  • Experience in the following: software/firmware development processes and conducting quality assessments of software products and artifacts.
  • Previous experience with Agile or DevOps software development.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we value:

  • Knowledge and work experience with MDA Mission Assurance Provisions (MAP)
  • Technical leadership of small teams
  • Ability to define and review quality requirements for program bids and proposals

  • Possess the ability to serve as an organizational spokesperson
  • Act as an advisor to management, customers and team members on Software Quality concepts and practices
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value, ISO9001/AS9100
  • Experience using CORE/Six Sigma practices and methodologies to continuously improve software systems created using the Quality Management System requirements based on AS9100, AS9115, and AS9125.
  • Practical experience of Guidance, Navigation, Signal Processing, Radar and Discrimination systems and associated algorithms is desired.
  • Advanced degree – M.S.
  • Agile or DevOps with emphasis on software testing, continuous integration and continuous monitoring is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
