Job Description
The Software Quality Lead supports Motorola LMR products and reports to the Sr. Manager of Software Quality. This role drives software quality practices across the software development lifecycle and works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and global quality teams to prevent defects and improve product reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive software quality practices across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Lead root cause analysis of software defects and drive corrective actions
- Facilitate DFMEA and design reviews to prevent defect leakage
- Define and monitor software quality metrics and analyze defect trends
- Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with engineering, testing, manufacturing, and operations to ensure product quality and release readiness
- Support manufacturing quality investigations related to software and system-level issues
- Represent the Malaysia site in software quality reviews and leadership updates
- Ensure compliance with ISO and telecom quality standards

-Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years experience in software development, testing, or software quality
- Strong understanding of software quality processes and defect analysis
- Comfortable working with manufacturing quality teams and supporting factory investigations
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience in telecom, mission-critical systems, or LMR products preferred
- Six Sigma or Quality certification required
