Job Description
Summary:
Rockwell Automation's Industrial Component Business is looking for a Software Integration Test Engineer to be a significant contributor to the next generation new product development. You will report to the Engineering Manager, ITD-SIC Business and have a hybrid schedule working in Pune, India.
You will develop industry-leading commercial software, known for its innovation and usability, and involve yourself in all aspects of software product testing. This includes unit, functional, and integration testing, and designing automated/manual test systems, developing test plans/cases, effort estimation.
You will also help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. You will collaborate with multiple global teams and seek knowledge of new developments in the test automation fields.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop test plans and test cases by understanding and following the software system and product requirements.
- Perform Test effort assessment and estimation, test schedule creation, track, document, and report progress.
- Manual and Automated scripting/testing of the products and systems
- Defect management - reports, debugs, and corrects anomalies.
- Participate in reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
- Use automated test tools and methods to ensure full functional coverage and regression is attained.
- Report any issues identified and documenting test results for follow-up.
- Build relationships and work with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritised.
- Seek knowledge of new developments in the software testing and test automation fields.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–8+ years of experience in software/system/automation testing.
- Hands-on automation expertise using: JavaScript/TypeScriptWebdriverIO or Selenium or Playwright.
- Automation framework design (modular and scalable)
- Manual testing background for hardware–software integrated systems, UI workflows, regression, and system testing.
- 1+ years of experience with UI modernization or migration testing.
- Working knowledge of Windows GUI automation (WinAppDriver, FlaUI, AutoIt, and Pywinauto).
- Design, review, and maintain test plans, test cases, and produce detailed test reports.
- Understand software development processes, version control, and code collaboration tools (Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency with Python scripting for automation tools.
- Experience analysing EtherNet/IP or similar protocol using Wireshark, including packet filtering and troubleshooting communication between software application and hardware under test.
- Experience with enterprise test management tools (such as qTest).
- Analytical and debugging capabilities for UI, communication, and system-level issues.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation controllers and tools:Logix Designer, Module profiles, EDS files, ControlLogix / CompactLogix platforms
- Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, CIP services, industrial networking, and diagnostic concepts.
- Familiarity with virtualized environments (VMWare, Hyper-V, Virtual Machine images).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation or system operations.
- Understanding of Programmable Logic Controller programming concepts (ladder logic, structured text).
- Experience with Allure reporting, API testing, CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior experience validating device behaviour within engineering tools, configuration UIs, or industrial automation software.
- Awareness of AI/ML concepts with a basic understanding of ethical AI principles
- Genuine curiosity and interest in latest AI trends
