Software Engineering Senior Advisor

As a Software Engineering Senior Advisor, you will provide strong technical leadership across reporting and analytics platforms that support critical PBM and healthcare operations. You will partner closely with product, analytics, and business stakeholders to modernize reporting capabilities, elevate engineering practices, and ensure consistent, high‑quality execution. This role plays a key part in integrating AI‑enabled solutions into reporting workflows to improve reliability, accelerate issue resolution, and enhance developer productivity. You will lead through influence and technical credibility, championing continuous improvement and forward‑looking engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Delivery Leadership

  • Provide end‑to‑end technical leadership across full‑stack platforms, including front‑end, service/API, data, and back‑end systems.
  • Serve as a senior technical and domain advisor, shaping analytics, reporting, and platform strategy within the PBM ecosystem.
  • Design, build, and integrate AI‑enabled solutions, including Python‑based services, REST APIs, and RAG or vector‑search architectures.
  • Provide architectural guidance for high‑volume reporting platforms and large‑scale data processing solutions.
  • Ensure reporting outputs are timely, accurate, and supported by reliable, high‑quality data flows.
  • Promote modern engineering practices that improve developer productivity, scalability, and maintainability.

Operational Excellence

  • Improve production reliability by leading incident triage, root cause analysis, and long‑term remediation efforts.
  • Champion Agile, DevOps, and iterative delivery practices across teams.
  • Drive continuous improvements in architecture, automation, observability, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise engineering standards, security policies, and data governance requirements.

Stakeholder Partnership & Influence

  • Partner with Product, Planning, Client and Operational Reporting SMEs, analysts, and business leaders to translate requirements into actionable engineering outcomes.
  • Collaborate with data governance, QA, and UI/UX teams to meet client, operational, and regulatory expectations.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences, including providing incident updates and delivery status.
  • Lead through influence, mentoring teams and guiding decisions without direct authority.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise software engineering supporting client‑facing or business‑critical applications.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership and serving as a subject matter expert for complex enterprise systems.
  • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot, including designing high‑performance, scalable services.
  • Experience with cloud and container platforms, including AWS (such as S3) and OpenShift.
  • Expertise designing and supporting API‑based architectures and large‑scale automation solutions.
  • Strong background in production support, incident management, and operational excellence.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and optimization.
  • Experience working with distributed and offshore engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence engineering and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the PBM or healthcare domain supporting complex, business‑critical platforms.
  • Experience with AI/ML engineering using Python and frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and vector search technologies.
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms to cloud‑native and microservices architectures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,200 - 217,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
