Software Engineering Senior Advisor

The Software Engineering Senior Advisor plays a critical role in designing, building, and evolving application solutions that support core business operations and customer-facing experiences. This role partners closely with product owners, architects, and cross‑functional teams to translate complex business needs into scalable, reliable, and integrated software solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to balance immediate delivery with long‑term technology strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver application solutions that meet defined business objectives and detailed application requirements, ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions align to customer and business needs.
  • Contribute to the strategic and tactical planning, development, and implementation of application and technology architecture.
  • Support the continuous delivery of technology solutions across multiple business areas.
  • Design, develop, and enhance both internal and customer‑facing applications.
  • Integrate applications and technologies across platforms and business units to support enterprise objectives.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands‑on development to meet immediate business needs while positioning applications for future growth.
  • Participate fully in the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support.
  • Contribute to technical estimates, solution demonstrations, and design reviews.
  • Support application maintenance and, when needed, assist with infrastructure‑related troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Foster a collaborative, team‑based development environment and recommend tools and practices that improve development efficiency and quality.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in application development and software engineering roles.
  • Hands‑on experience with Synon, AS400, iSeries, and DB2 in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience participating in technical design, development, and implementation of software solutions.
  • Ability to work across cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting production applications, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to contribute effectively in a team‑based software development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools, DevOps practices, or migration of legacy systems.
  • Experience supporting customer‑facing or highly integrated enterprise applications.
