Description

The Technical Engineering Manager will lead technical excellence across teams, enabling market‑leading software standards for innovative product delivery and global recall at Equiniti. Work pattern aligns with UK hours.

Core Responsibilities (SFIA Level 5)

  • Line management of engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Drive adoption of Agile and SDLC practices.

  • Maintain processes, standards, and best practices for high‑quality delivery.

  • Promote engineering excellence via analysis tools, peer reviews, and design improvements.

  • Optimize lifecycle through knowledge management and continuous learning.

  • Advocate reduction of technical debt with Product teams.

  • Collaborate with central EQ functions (risk, compliance, InfoSec).

  • Mentor engineers, instill ownership, and build a high‑performance culture.

  • Strengthen talent pipeline through hiring, succession planning, and reviews.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies for differentiation and adoption.

  • Articulate technical roadmap, architecture documentation, and validate platforms.

  • Contribute code as an expert developer.

Technical Responsibilities (SFIA Level 6 – Programming/Software Development)

  • Develop organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for software construction/refactoring.

  • Lead construction activities for strategic, large, complex projects.

  • Adapt or create new methods and drive adherence to standards.

  • Application architecture, source control, issue resolution, feedback capture.
