What You’ll Do
* Serve as the technical lead and primary platform owner for the Workday Platform
* Own the architecture, design, and delivery of complex Workday solutions spanning configuration, security, integrations (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, Orchestrations), Extend apps, and custom reporting (Report Writer, Prism, BIRT, Worksheets).
* Lead tenant strategy, release management, bi-annual upgrade planning, and feature adoption roadmaps in partnership with Employee Success and Finance stakeholders.
* Drive security & access governance: design and maintain domain/security policies, constrained proxy access, implementer governance, and SOX-compliant controls.
* Own incident response, disaster recovery exercises, and 24/7 platform availability in collaboration with SRE and monitoring teams (Splunk, New Relic, PagerDuty).
* Mentor junior engineers and platform analysts; establish best practices, SOPs, and reusable assets
* Partner with product managers, business systems analysts, and functional leads to translate requirements into robust, secure, and performant solutions.
* Continuously evaluate emerging Workday capabilities (Extend, Orchestrate, Adaptive Planning, People Analytics, Skills Cloud, etc.) and recommend adoption paths.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience.
* 10+ years of deep, hands-on Workday experience
* Expert-level knowledge across:
* Workday architecture, configuration, and integration.
* Security model (domain, business process, functional areas, constrained proxy, API, ISU)
* Experience with Workday Integration Studio, EIB, and Workday Report Writer.
* Experience in leading at least 2 full life cycle Workday implementations.
* Excellent working knowledge of Workday Security, Business Processes, Reports, Calc Fields, Integrations framework, Studio, BIRT
* Experience with Workday Extend and Workday orchestration
* Current Workday certifications (required): Core HCM, Integrations (Studio & Core), Security; additional certifications (Advanced Comp, Learning, Extend, Finance) strongly preferred.
* Proven experience owning tenant management, release/upgrade cycles, sandbox refresh strategy, and production governance.
* Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Splunk, New Relic) and on-call rotation tools (PagerDuty).
* Exceptional communication skills – able to explain complex technical concepts to functional leaders and executives.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Desired (Nice-to-Have)
* Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, Workforce Planning, or Prism Analytics
* Prior responsibility for SOX or SOC compliance in a Workday environment
* Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS
* Familiarity with Finance-side Workday modules (Financial Accounting, Procurement, Expenses)
* Experience working in and around the software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service architectures and/or industry
* Experience with Slack/Workday integration
* Experience with Tableau/Workday integration
Why This Role Is Special

If you live and breathe Workday, love solving hard platform-scale problems, and want to own the entire ecosystem end-to-end, this is your dream job.
