Software Engineering Lead

Job Summary:

At IGS, we leverage Agile and Lean techniques, such as acceptance test-driven development, continuous integration, and story-based iterative development.  As a Software Engineer Lead, you will be involved in all phases of software development, from requirements definition to production releases.  You will be embedded in a cross-functional team of analysts, developers, product managers, and testing staff, collectively striving to quickly deliver high-quality, high-value software.  This contrasts to most other environments where the culture encourages “throwing the code over the wall” for QA to test.  We work in an environment that encourages individual initiative, leadership at all levels, and team-based continuous improvement void of hierarchy and bureaucracy.  The successful candidate will balance hands-on development work with leadership responsibilities. 

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Manage daily operational, maintenance, and project work within the Application Development team

      • Lead, motivate, and engage team members to cultivate a culture of excellence

      • Write SOLID code using test-driven development methodologies

      • Design, code, configure, unit test, and deploy applications that meet technical and business specifications

      • Execute development tasks in accordance with project timelines

      • Develop strong relationships with internal customers by engaging them in Agile development projects

      • Ensure technical debt is kept low by maintaining a clean, quality code base

      • Participate in requirements definition sessions with analysts, end-users, and management

      • Mentor and conduct code reviews for less senior developers

      • Commitment beyond the standard work week is expected

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in CIS/CSE/MIS, or equivalent experience

      • 7+ years enterprise-level software development using Microsoft technology stack

      • Technical certifications are a plus (MCSD, MCPD)

      Salary Range:

      $110,850.00 - $177,360.00

      *This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.

      This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
