Software Engineering Lead Analyst - HIH - Evernorth

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical design specifications
• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2 and CICS with Mainframe tools and utilities.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Optimize mainframe application performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Work with batch processing systems and scheduling tools like CA-7.
• Update and maintain technical documentation
• Participate in Agile planning and standup meetings

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 - 8 Years of experience in mainframe programming          
• Programming Languages: COBOL, JCL, CICS
• Database Management: Strong knowledge of VSAM and DB2
• COBOL Debugging Tool: Xpeditor
• Version Control: Expertise in Endevor or similar tools
• CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins.
• Messaging Queues: Knowledge of IBM MQ
• IBM Mainframe Utilities (IEBGENER, SORT, IDCAMS, etc.)
• File Transmission: NDM, FTP& SFTP

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
