Software Engineering Intern – Mobile (Android & iOS) 

Company: Gen (Avast + Norton) – global consumer SaaS cyber security software company
Location: Dublin 15. Ballycoolin Business park. (onsite)
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term internship (10 weeks, starting 1st July)
Eligibility: Active student or very recent graduate, able to work onsite in Dublin for the full duration

About the Internship

You’ll help build and improve consumer mobile apps used by millions, focused on protecting users from online threats, managing digital privacy, and delivering AI‑powered security insights. Working alongside experienced Android and iOS engineers, you’ll contribute to real features in Norton consumer apps — such as threat alerts, account protection flows, and AI‑driven security experiences that keep users safe every day.

This is a hands-on engineering internship. You will work directly with experienced Android and iOS engineers on production-grade applications used by millions. You will contribute real code, participate in design discussions, and learn how AI is transforming modern mobile development.

This is not a shadowing role. You will ship! 🚀

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to Android or iOS features within large-scale consumer applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code under mentorship
  • Use AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar to accelerate delivery and improve quality
  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Learn modern mobile architecture patterns and best practices
  • Collaborate with product, design, QA, and other engineers in a globally distributed team

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Foundational knowledge of Android with Kotlin or iOS with Swift
  • Understanding of basic software engineering principles, version control, clean code, testing fundamentals
  • Curiosity about AI-assisted development and willingness to adopt AI as part of daily workflow
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to ask questions
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

Nice to Have

  • Personal, academic, or open-source mobile projects
  • Exposure to SwiftUI, UIKit, Kotlin, or modern Android frameworks
  • Experience using AI coding assistants
