We are seeking a versatile and motivated DevSecOps Engineer with strong full stack development capabilities to join our dynamic, cross-functional team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid DevOps foundation who is also comfortable contributing across the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong DevOps background along with experience in one or more additional areas such as frontend or backend development, and a willingness to learn and grow in others. This role involves collaborating closely with other engineers and helping mentor team members in DevOps concepts and tooling.
This is a 100% remote position. Occasional travel may be required (up to a few times per year, infrequently) to support team or program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and maintenance of full stack software applications
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to design, develop, and deploy high-quality, secure software solutions
Apply DevOps best practices while working in partnership with an existing platform services team
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback
Troubleshoot and resolve software and deployment issues across the stack
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development, security, and deployment processes
Document processes, architectures, and projects in Confluence
Mentor and support other engineers in adopting DevOps tools and practices
Position Requirements:
Active Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience
Ability to prove US Citizenship
Strong foundation in DevOps practices and tools, with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines
Experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience with DevOps and security tooling such as SonarQube, Fortify, Anchore, Twistlock, TruffleHog, and ArgoCD
Proficiency in ticket creation and management using Jira
Experience with Git and modern version control workflows
Full Stack / Development Experience (one or more of the following):
Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Material UI
Backend: Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python
Data: PostgreSQL, Liquibase, SPARQL, Elasticsearch, Logstash
Authentication/Security: OAuth, JWT, OWASP principles
Testing Technologies:
Cypress, Jest, React Testing Library
JUnit and general unit/integration testing practices
