The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System CI (OSCI) team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Brno. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the way Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) distribution is built. You will gain a deep understanding of the build pipeline and gating processes at various places in this pipeline. You will be making sure that these pipeline gates fulfill the highest possible enterprise performance, usability, and supportability criteria.
Fix pipeline test failures, document the gating process, educate users of the process, and provide support to package owners.
Participate in a team organization that will enable efficient, fast-paced development
Participate in developing features, fix bugs & review code for the RHEL gating pipeline
Exercise internal customer centricity to deliver tools that other teams will want to use
Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
Experience with distributed version control systems like Git
Quality and detail-oriented thinking, understanding customer perspective, and good problem-solving skills
Ability to collaboratively troubleshoot and solve problems in a team setting
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent related work experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to work with a distributed team
The following are considered a plus:
Familiarity with CI e.g., Gitlab CI, Jenkins
Experience with OpenShift
Knowledge of containerization technologies
Experience with modern agile software development principles, methodologies, and processes
