We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our OpenStack team in Brno, Czech Republic. You will work on the Compute layer of OpenStack developing, maintaining, and improving Nova, the service that provisions and manages virtual machines at scale across large, distributed infrastructure.

Develop and maintain features in OpenStack Nova (compute API, scheduling, hypervisor integration, resource tracking)
Write clean, well-tested Python code following OpenStack community standards
Participate in upstream code reviews and engage with the OpenStack community development process
Debug complex issues spanning hypervisors, messaging queues, and distributed compute systems
Collaborate with operators, Quality Engineers, and platform engineering teams across time zones
Contribute to design specifications and architectural decisions within the Nova project
3+ years of professional software development experience
Strong Python skills with experience in large, complex codebases
Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and cloud computing concepts
Familiarity with virtual machines, hypervisors (KVM/libvirt), or compute infrastructure
Familiarity with REST APIs and message queue systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Oslo messaging)
Experience with Git-based workflows and code review processes
Strong written English for asynchronous, globally distributed collaboration
The following are considered a plus:
Experience contributing to OpenStack or other large open source projects (commit history, reviews, or spec authorship)
Experience working in Agentic SDLC workflows — using AI coding assistants or agent-driven development pipelines in day-to-day engineering
Background in CI/CD for large open source projects (Zuul, Tox, Tempest)
