Job Summary

Our team owns the Self-Install Kit Order Management System (SIKOMS), which drives the orchestration, routing, and shipment of self-install kits to residential customers across our national footprint. SIKOMS integrates with fulfillment partners like CSG, CTDI, and Phoenix, ensuring our customers receive the right equipment—on time, and configured correctly.
The SIKOMS operations team manages everything from device configuration (defining what’s shipped and how), to creating finished goods (“kits” combining one or more devices), to mapping product supportability and routing between fulfillment centers and customer locations. We work at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud-native platforms, and critical business operations—what we build directly shapes customer experience.

Job Description

As an Engineer 2 on our team, you’ll play a key part in supporting and evolving our system. You’ll work primarily on backend applications and services (mostly C#/.NET in Azure), with occasional exposure to Java and legacy infrastructure. This role is not about being an expert from day one, but about your desire to grow, learn the full SDLC (from requirements to deployment), and eventually take real ownership over your domain.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Collaborate with engineers and business partners to build, test, and ship software that makes a tangible difference for our customers.
  • Contribute to backend systems that interface with external partners, coordinate orders, and ensure accurate, timely shipments.
  • Participate in the entire software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
  • Work flexibly across domains (.NET, Java, cloud, infrastructure) as business needs arise, and be open to learning new technologies.
  • Document your solutions clearly, supporting maintainability and team knowledge sharing.
  • Practice strong code ownership, with a focus on operational reliability, data integrity, and customer outcomes.

Required Skills:

  • Foundation in programming with C# and modern .NET (or similar object-oriented languages). Willingness to learn more.
  • Experience or interest in Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, Service Bus, etc). Other cloud experience welcome.
  • Understanding of relational databases (SQL Server or similar), REST APIs, and systems integration.
  • Interest or basic knowledge in Java, Git, orchestration patterns, automation, or infrastructure is a plus.
  • Ability and motivation to work within and across technical and operational teams—including working with stakeholders in business and fulfillment operations.
  • Good written and verbal communication; ability to document your work and collaborate effectively.
  • Bonus: Exposure to React, messaging systems, NoSQL, or multi-cloud platforms.

Who Succeeds Here

  • You care deeply about the quality and reliability of your work, always keeping the customer’s needs in mind.
  • You’re adaptable, eager to learn new technologies, and willing to own outcomes.
  • You’re collaborative—ready to share your knowledge, and seek help when needed.
  • You want to grow into an expert your team can rely on and trust.
