We are looking for a talented, result-oriented, dynamic, highly motivated IT Engineer for IT Host Automation team at Micron Technology, Inc. and within the Information Technology Team (IT). You will support Assembly & Test (AT) High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) Sites and collaborate with global teams to develop and deploy solutions for manufacturing tool automation and data systems which run in the factory floors across Micron AT sites. Together with team you are accountable to the business processes, systems, support, and sustainment. This includes 24x7 L3 Operations support for these systems on a rotational basis. You will need to have demonstrated ability to create quality software and participate in quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Analyze business needs to understand the project/problem statements.

  • Meet with customers.
  • Collaborate with others (Business Process Analysts, Project Managers) to identify, clarify, and capture customer requirements.
  • Document as is and To Be process flows.
  • Work with tool vendors to understand/evaluate tool software connectivity requirements.

2. Analyze the software solution options.

  • Evaluate available software options.
  • Consult with the IT domain and Enterprise architects to understand the IT roadmap.
  • Lead or participate in a decision analysis.
  • Collaborate with the project coordinator to determine the time, resource constraints, etc.
  • Review options with the customer to help determine the best solution.

3. Follow the software development lifecycle to deliver solutions.

  • Design a solution based on customer requirements.
  • Implement the software solution.
  • Complete unit testing.
  • Participate with end users in integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Prepare Document (technical specifications, test plans, deployment plans, Knowledge base articles, support documents etc.).

4. Provide 24x7 support for software issues.

  • Provide L3 support on rotational basis.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and final point of contact.
  • Respond to customer or developer requests for assistance.
  • Troubleshoot issues independently and with other teams such as Site L2 support teams.
  • Identify and document defects and enhancements.

5. Work to maintain skills and improve the IT roadmap.

  • Attend internal/external training to hone skills to contribute to Business needs.
  • Research best practices, current trends, and techniques.
  • Make recommendations to Domain/Enterprise architect for changes to the IT roadmap.
  • Implement technology interactions based on company and industry best practices.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn AI, GenAI assisted tools and solutions and apply for productivity improvement.
  • Good team player.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Engineering/Information Technology or related fields.
  • 1 to 2 years of application development experience is preferred. Fresh graduates are also welcome.
  • Having flair and interest in system development, maintenance and performance improvement using multiple programming languages and systems.
  • Familiarity with Scripting languages such as Perl, Windows programming in C#,

Understanding of middleware and messaging concepts are preferred.

  • Understanding of Machine Communication protocols such as SECS/GEM are preferred but not must.
  • Source code management best practices and Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices are preferred but not must.
  • Good Problem-solving and Critical thinking skills
  • Good English language skill on oral communications and writing skills.
