Exciting career growth opportunity (Software Engineer) in the latest technologies and best-in-class Human Capital Management ERP (Workday). Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of software design, development and implementation of home grown or package solutions (ERPs/SaaS) and demonstrated working experience of software frameworks such as Microsoft .NET.

This position develops, tests, maintains and enhances business applications as a member of an Agile or Operations development team, and works with the entire team to ensure development conforms to acceptance criteria. This position works with business product owners, developers, and quality analysts to drive value delivery and will participate in all phases of Agile software development.

Position is eligible for flexible remote schedule. Must reside in our six-state footprint (MI, OH, IN, IL, WI or KY) OR be willing to relocate within our footprint for employment eligibility.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Codes, tests, and implements programs; develops system documentation according to SAFe Agile principles and industry standards.
  • Performs unit tests, monitors results, and takes required corrective actions as needed.
  • Assists in the deployment of applications.
  • Optimizes and enhances applications and interfaces to meet SLA/functional requirements.
  • Provides technical consultation in new systems development, new package system evaluations and enhancement of existing systems.
  • Assists product owners in systems analysis and creation or updating of documentation for all business processes.
  • Interfaces with the Product Owner and IT partners to develop acceptance criteria for features and user stories and ensures acceptance criteria are met.
  • Works within the SAFe Agile framework and utilizes ITIL best practices.
  • Participates with other IT members, customers and other stakeholders in new product reviews, tests and pilots.
  • Performs feasibility studies/proofs of concept to evaluate solutions.
  • Participates in structured walkthroughs, secure coding, and technical reviews ensuring application coding and design follows secure coding and design principles.
  • Assists in the production support and maintenance of applications in accordance with ITIL as needed.
  • Actively participates in all team Agile ceremonies.  This job role may also provide facilitation of activities for Agile teams within Meijer ITS as acting Scrum Master.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s and 3 years post degree of ITS experience is required. (or equivalent combination)
  • Must have demonstrated working experience of software frameworks such as Microsoft .NET
  • Experience in developing integrations for ERP systems and familiar with different integration methodologies such as API, file etc.
  • Coding/development experience with front-end and back-end applications using C# and .NET technologies, including on-prem and Azure hosted (Logic Apps, Function Apps, Storage Account, Data Factory etc.)
  • Familiarity with RESTful API's, Postman tool, Mock responses, API Gateway
  • Knowledge of database management (DB2, SQL Server and Teradata) and file access methods
  • Prior HR Payroll ERP implementation experience. (Workday preferred)
    • Workday functional knowledge and experience in modules or Integration with Workday:  HCM, Integrations, and Payroll
    • Exposure to Workday tool set is preferred:  Studio, EIB, Core Connector, Report Writer, XSLT, Oxygen; and ability to review and triage code.
    • Understand Workday data structures and where data is retrieved from

The pay range for this position is listed below.

$86,000.00 - $134,000.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, which is determined by factors such as market data, the qualifications required, the level of responsibilities associated with the role and other roles at this same level. Your specific pay rate within this range will be based on your experience, qualifications, and skills compared to the internal team you’ll be joining.
