Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking either a Principal Software Engineer (level 3) or Senior Principal Software Engineer (level 4) to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This role will require a combination of technical knowledge, strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

What you'll get to do:

As a Software Engineer, you will be working with Software Systems Engineering to implement code expected run on a Kubernetes platform, integrate, and test the code with other scrum teams. The code will work towards customers objectives to demonstrate certain capabilities identified as risk reducers for the enterprise solution.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Software Engineer (T03): 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 years of relevant experience with Masters; 1 year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • Senior Principal Software Engineer (T04): 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 6 years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required at the time of application

  • Experience with command and control

  • Experience in at least one object-oriented programming language

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STEM degree

  • MBSE knowledge with CAMEO

  • Experience working in DevOps environment

  • Experience working with Kubernetes and Cloud deployments

  • Proficient in at least one common scripting language

  • Proficient with using any kind of messaging bus

  • Proficient with Atlassian tools Jira, Confluence, and Git

  • Understanding of Microservice architecture and design best practices

  • Experience working with either a relational database or bucket type database

  • Experience working with Containers

  • Experience with Software integration during development lifecycle

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
