The Jira Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of the Jira project management platform used for issue tracking, workflow optimization, and team collaboration across the organization. This role customizes Jira to meet business needs while ensuring system efficiency, security, and an enhanced user experience.
The Jira Administrator works closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, software developers, and IT partners, to ensure Jira effectively supports Agile, Scrum, and other project management methodologies. Responsibilities include managing Jira projects and workflows, controlling user access, supporting integrations with other tools, performing routine maintenance and updates, and providing training and support to end users. The role also involves generating custom reports and dashboards to support visibility, tracking, and decision-making.
This position requires strong technical expertise in Jira, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to users at varying levels of technical proficiency. Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence, as well as automation or scripting, is beneficial.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Preferred)

Experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree

No specific certification or licensure requirements
(Atlassian Jira or related certifications preferred but not required)
2+ years of experience administering, configuring, and supporting Jira in an enterprise environment
Hands-on experience setting up and managing Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and user access
Experience troubleshooting Jira issues and performing routine system updates and maintenance
Ability to create custom reports, dashboards, and metrics to support project and operational needs
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support Agile, Scrum, or similar methodologies
Strong communication skills with the ability to provide training and support to end users
