Job Description:

The software engineer intern assists the weather systems project team in the configuration, installation, and commissioning of DTN solutions for the aeronautical market (AWOS, LLWAS, ATIS/VOLMET) as well as for other weather markets such as energy, renewables, agriculture, and transportation.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Translate the customer functional requirements to DTN solutions in an efficient manner and aligned with DTN QA standards.
• Elaboration of system engineering documentation.
• Development of communication protocols and HMI for DTN solutions, prioritizing and organizing project tasks into the required timeline,
• Developing applications and services to efficiently transform, render, and serve weather data.
• Collaboratively learning, evaluating, and improving existing systems and their documentation.
• Investigating problem reports, writing tests, and troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with Product Manager(s) on the evolution of the projects.
• Contribute to the optimization and continuous improvement of the software development process.
• Function in a SCRUM-based Agile environment requiring the frequent release of functional code.

Skills and competences:

• Currently pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with Python and JavaScript.
• Knowledgeable about various database technologies, including MySQL, Postgres, and SQLServer.
• Familiarity with AWS technology is a plus. Understanding of Nginx and GNU Linux.
• Understanding of HTTP API paradigms, like REST. Familiarity with Docker is a plus.
• Understanding of GIT. Effective communication skills with cross-collaborative teams.
• Diligence, persistence, and attention to detail.
• Desire to learn, help others learn, and grow your technical skills. Enthusiasm for technology and your team.
