Location: This is a hybrid role, with one day per week in our Birmingham office.

The Agent development team within Genesys Cloud is looking for a Software Engineer in Test to join our Birmingham-based team. You’ll work closely with cloud engineers on highly scalable, distributed systems, where quality, automation, and performance are core priorities.

What You’ll Do

• Work with the existing Java-based testing framework to implement API/UI tests
• Engage in Manual/Automation/Performance/Accessibility testing
• Develop performance testing strategies using tools such as Locust and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor and triage failing automation test 
• Coordinating bug hunts for new features
• Create clear test plans and test documentation
• Leverage AI-powered development tools and modern IDE features to improve test efficiency and maintainability
• Collaborate with the team on planning, estimation, and code reviews

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of automation testing experience in Java
• You have used Bitbucket/Github as a code repository
• Experience with Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools
• Proficiency with IDEs (VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, etc)
• Experience with Test automation frameworks (TestNG, Selenium, Playwright)
• Strong understanding of the SDLC and STLC
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and asynchronously
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman
• Experience with AI-powered development tools (Amazon Q, Cursor, Kiro, or similar)
