Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior UI Engineer to join our Treasury & Finance Technology organization. This role will be instrumental in shaping and advancing the user interface strategy for our Reporting and Analytics platform, enabling critical regulatory, financial, and executive reporting across the bank.


Role Overview: As part of the Reporting and Analytics team, you will collaborate closely with Treasury and Finance partners to design intuitive, scalable, and high-performing user experiences. You will drive UI architecture decisions, lead
feature development, and guide modernization efforts, including planned upgrades and enhancements across our existing applications. This role requires strong design sensibilities, technical depth, and the ability to influence UI best practices across the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
  • Lead the design and development of scalable, high quality UI solutions utilizing modern design patterns.
  • Apply and champion enterprise standards for UI architecture, coding practices, accessibility, and quality.
  • Ensure all solutions meet agreed-upon acceptance criteria, while minimizing technical debt.
  • Address and optimize non-functional requirements such as performance, throughput, and SLAs.
  • Drive exceptional user experience (UX) through strong aesthetic judgment and hands-on UI development.
  • Manage and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Adapt quickly to evolving team and business needs.
  • Deliver high-quality output with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Participate in mandatory training and contribute to cross-functional knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstrate ongoing curiosity and desire to grow domain expertise in Treasury and Finance.
  • Identify, propose, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience in web application development, with advanced proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript/ES6+.

  • Deep understanding of UI frameworks, front-end architecture, and responsive design principles.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Exposure to the banking domain, preferably in Global Markets, Financial Risk, or Treasury functions.

  • Experience with modern UI technologies such as: React, Angular, TypeScript, Webpack, Node.js REST, GraphQL, and micro-frontend approaches

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in front-end/UI engineering roles

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

  • Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$102,900.00 - $179,900.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
