Job Description

The Software Engineer II is an early- to mid-career contributor that has a combination of formal education and experience in the software engineering field.  This role is responsible for the research, design, development, analysis, testing, and implementation of software for operating systems and applications. They communicate project information to business stakeholders, project managers, and other design personnel working on projects. They maintain good working relationships with clients and staff.  They write and maintain complete documentation. They support team members and ensure established goals and deadlines are met.  They keep management informed of status and significant problems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop web applications and web services Java, sprint boot framework, AWS SDK, Angular, and other web technologies
  • Maintains accountability for quality of services in their assigned area and the success of assigned projects for on-time, on-budget, and on-scope delivery.
  • Contributes directly to the rapid identification of system problems, minimizing the time to restore services.
  • Manages multiple tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure environments, excelling at pinpointing and resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses.
  • Deliver high-quality projects on time through the ability to design and implement solutions consistent with architectural guidance, write high-quality code, and execute effective unit tests.
  • Integrate third-party products with existing infrastructure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in both self-managed and team-based Agile projects.
  • Research, design, and develop computer software systems, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Develops and executes software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Performs miscellaneous projects as assigned.

  • Experience designing and building modern web APIs and services, including RESTful architectures, microservices, and data exchange using JSON or XML over HTTP/S. Familiarity with API design best practices, versioning, and documentation (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger).
  • Experience in designing and implementing system integrations using event-driven architecture.
  • Experience in applying Change Data Capture (CDC).
  • Experience with Identity based software.
  • Experience in integrations with Identity Fabric's / Meshes.
  • Good understanding of issue troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Commitment to quality through the ability to translate complex technical requirements into functional software using best practices to write high quality code.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working equally well in self-managed and team-based Agile projects and the ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to other team members.
  • Assist and mentor junior peers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of the processes associated with software development, including Planning, Measurement, Coding, Testing, Reuse, Tools, Abstraction, Algorithms and Complexity, Security, and basic system understanding

• Ability to employ the tools and techniques related to an engineering discipline, such as database management, user interface development, inter-process communications, etc.

Ability to create designs that can be realized in code that achieve functional and non-functional requirements for an application or assigned part of the system. Appropriately uses design patterns, system decomposition, security, and fault tolerance. A demonstrated capability in one or more design methodologies, such as Object-oriented design, Function-oriented design, data centered design and the notations appropriate for each

• Understands implications of Software as a Service in the creation of software systems. Thinks of and designs for scale, reliability, and cost in a public cloud environment. Uses data and metrics to analyze Key Performance Indicators

• Ability to explain the basic value of a system and subsystems to users and how the various subsystems inter-operate to provide features. Able to act as a partner with Operations in solving problems in assigned area

Minimum Qualifications
 

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

· 4+ years of experience and a proven track record in developing web-based applications and web services using Java, REST, TypeScript, and other web technologies.

· 2 years of experience with software, Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript (Angular and NestJS).

· Experience interfacing with databases and integrating third-party products with existing infrastructure.

· 2+ years of experience in system integrations and event-driven architecture.

 Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka is strongly preferred
  • Strong relational database skills
  • Experience developing on or integrating with the Salesforce platform

This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.

Position & Application Details
