What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing solutions that are performant, efficient, secure, scalable, and resilient. You will also be responsible for safeguarding our customers by effectively managing incidents and minimizing their impact through clear communication and provision of quick solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of backend services running on on-premise and AWS infrastructure, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Write resilient, secure, and well-tested code with attention to performance and reliability.
  • Maintain technical documentation for services, APIs, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in incident response rotations and contribute to post-incident remediation and prevention efforts.
  • Develop awareness of resource usage and cost considerations, flagging concerns to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Engage in standard Agile and software development activities: backlog refinement, sprint planning, implementation, design and code reviews, demos, and retrospectives.

What You’ll Bring:

Required skills:

  • Solid working proficiency in Python; experience with Django or a comparable web framework.
  • Experience contributing to backend systems, including RESTful APIs and data processing pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred): schema design, querying, and basic optimization.
  • Working familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis.
  • Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for full-stack feature contributions.
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker.
  • Ability to work effectively within established CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or equivalent).
  • Comfort working in Linux-based environments and with version control (Git).
  • Strong collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • AI literacy and active use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, GitHub Copilot) as a core part of the daily development workflow — candidates should be comfortable using these tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and documentation, and should be able to speak to how they incorporate them in practice.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch or similar search and analytics engines.
  • Exposure to foundational AWS services (ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, ALB).
  • Experience with Angular or React.
  • Understanding of detection engineering, threat intelligence, or SOC/incident response workflows.
