Overview:

As a Software Engineer I, you will be part of the team responsible for the design, creation, and maintenance of Data Products using Big data, cloud technologies. You will work closely with Software/Data engineers, data scientists, product owners and product managers to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that deliver business value. You will contribute to the best practices, standards, and technical roadmap.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for coding, unit testing, integration testing and participating in the full SDLC
  • Actively participate in discussions by constructively suggesting ideas and openly receiving feedback to improve solutions 
  • Write clear, concise, and detailed technical user epics and stories, including well-defined user acceptance criteria. Participate in story grooming sessions to ensure precise and unambiguous documentation of features
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional teams based on project requirements. Adhere to peer code review best practices
  • Evaluate, learn, and incorporate new technologies into both new and existing frameworks and solutions as appropriate
  • Demonstrate agility and adaptability, embracing change in a dynamic environment

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. Equivalent work experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement
  • 2+ years of industry experience in the areas of Data/Software engineering
  • Excellent Knowledge of Python and database concepts and complex query writing
  • Experience of databricks, snowflake, Google cloud would be an added advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of query optimization techniques for improved performance
  • Experience in Cloud technologies like AWS, azure etc
  • Working knowledge of data ETL processes is preferred
  • Exposure to the geospatial domain, including an understanding of how geospatial data is stored in databases, is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization and actively listen
  • Ability to set and meet time-sensitive goals while managing multiple tasks simultaneously and adapting to change in a fast-paced environment, providing structure to operations and go-to-market teams
