Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $86,600.00 - $129,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Cox Automotive, is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Consumer Intelligence team.

Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Software Engineer I to join our Consumer Intelligence team in Irvine, CA, Atlanta, GA and Burlington VT.

As a Software Engineer I, you will apply your knowledge of modern software design, best practices, design patterns, and frameworks, with an understanding of application performance and maintainability. You will aspire to use new technologies and challenge yourself to develop innovative solutions. You will work alongside developers and technical leads on a team where collaborative programming and mentoring is regularly practiced

Your Role: 

  • Design, develop, and optimize API-driven solutions that enable data-driven insights for downstream consumers—including business stakeholders, analytics platforms, and reporting tools—while partnering with AI agents throughout the software development lifecycle to build, test, and deploy high-quality applications using contextual inputs that enhance AI accuracy and output reliability.   

  • Implement and design custom data streaming applications using technologies like Kafka, AWS, and Python, Type Script and JavaScript

  • Prioritize and practice the infrastructure as code principle with Terraform and AWS CDK 

  • Build, deploy and test using CI/CD practices 

  • Participate in the exploration and POC of new technologies as they become available to the team

  • Collaborate with the team members on best practices, code reviews, internal tools, and process improvements 

  • Evangelize new ideas within your team as well as across teams 

  • Explore open source or industry standard solutions that could be a fit for the organization  

  • Being a passionate and flexible engineer, collaborate with your team to achieve and exceed the goal to build, deploy, monitor, and manage a highly performing and highly available production system

  

Technologies We Use: 

  • Development languages framework: Java, Spark, Kafka, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Springboot

  • AWS cloud-native architectures in multiple regions

  • DevOps Tools: Terraform, GitHub Actions, CDK

  • Database: Aurora Postgres, Snowflake, DynamoDB

  • Monitoring and Alerting: New Relic and PagerDuty

  • AI Tools: Microsoft Copilot, MCP

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 12 years’ experience in a related field.

  • 1–2 years of experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components, frontend or backend development of client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems.

  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

  • Familiarity with working in cloud environment, leveraging cloud-native services and utilizing CI/CD processes and tools.
