Compensation includes a base salary of $72,200.00 - $108,200.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Manheim team based in Atlanta, GA. The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining application and system code to deliver new features, enhance performance, and improve maintainability. This role actively contributes to reducing technical debt and aligning development efforts with product and technology roadmaps.

Cox Automotive is hiring for a Software Engineer I who is eager and capable of learning new skills and technologies and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment where wearing multiple hats is encouraged.

 Your Role: 

  • Develop new or maintain existing programs based on specifications. 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain unit tests for programs. 

  • Actively participate in agile team activities. 

  • Participate in functional test planning and testing for assigned applications, functional areas, or projects. 

  • Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting for assigned applications, functional areas, or projects. 

  • Identifying and automating manual tasks

  • Evaluating and responding to bug submissions

  • Share knowledge by effectively documenting work. 

  • Stay current with changes in your technical area of expertise. 

  • Performance testing and identifying / resolving uncovered issues.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of assigned applications, functional areas, or projects. 

Min Qual

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years’ experience in a related field

  • Proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Foundational skills in analytical thinking, requirements analysis, software installation and support, system and technology integration, and technical troubleshooting. 

  • Foundational skills in building partnerships, challenging personal limitations, driving innovation, focusing on execution and striving for excellence. 

  • Other duties as needed or required. 

Preferred:

·       Exposure to RESTful APIs and microservices.

·       Experience with version control systems like Git.

·       Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

·       Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, Angular) is a bonus.

·       Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
