The Software Engineer is responsible for coding software applications based on business requirements. The work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action to support the pharmacy dispensing platform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This position standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software, oversees testing and debugging activities, and develops fixes. The Software Engineer 2 researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software-related issues.
The role demands effective coordination with both front-end and back-end dispensing teams, collaboration with product teams and internal and external stakeholders, and close partnership with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

  • Standardize and implement quality assurance procedures for software development.

  • Oversee testing, debugging, and the development of fixes for software issues.

  • Research and analyze complex software complaints, making necessary adjustments and recommendations for resolution.

  • Influence departmental strategy and make decisions regarding technical approaches for project components.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including front-end, back-end, and infrastructure groups—to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Engage with vendor-supported dispensing sites to ensure seamless system integration and support.

  • Partner closely with SRE and infrastructure teams to proactively address system reliability, performance, and scalability.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, automation, and deployment processes.

  • Integrate and optimize systems using cloud-based technologies.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices for code quality, security, and compliance.

This role will require an in-office presence minimum 2-3 days per week in our Louisville, KY office. Candidate must reside within a commutable distance of this office. Please consider when applying.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 3-5 years of experience.

  • Proven experience in Java (Spring Boot) application development.

  • Hands-on expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

  • Working knowledge of Cloud 3.0 technologies and modern cloud architectures.

  • Practical experience with Kafka for messaging and data streaming.

  • Working experience with Postgres for database management and operations.

  • Familiarity with SnapLogic for data integration and automation.

  • Experience with Apigee API Management for building, securing, and monitoring APIs.

  • Exposure to AI-driven solutions or integration of AI technologies.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in fast-paced, complex environments.

  • Experience with React and NodeJS is considered a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Prior experience in healthcare or pharmacy dispensing environments.

  • Experience coordinating with third-party vendors and support teams.

  • Knowledge of SRE principles and best practices.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to pharmacy dispensing systems.

Additional Information

  • This position may require occasional on-call support or work outside regular business hours to ensure system reliability.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$80,900 - $110,300 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
