The Paris office of Trimble Inc. is looking for a skilled Geospatial Cloud Backend Software Engineer with a strong foundation in cloud technologies to join our engineering team.
The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain backend services that power our scalable, secure, and high-performance geospatial cloud-based applications. You’ll collaborate closely with global, cross-functional teams to deliver robust APIs, efficient data processing pipelines, and seamless integrations across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain geospatial backend services using C# (.NET Core / .NET 6+)
Build and optimize cloud-native geospatial applications leveraging Azure / AWS / GCP services
Implement RESTful OpenAPI spec APIs, data models, and asynchronous processing systems
Write Python scripts for automation, testing, data analysis, or integration tasks
Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of backend components
Integrate and manage SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and data teams
Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and follow best coding practices
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical design decisions
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable professional experience.
3+ years of experience in backend development using C# and .NET Core
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also considered)
Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or backend logic
Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and distributed systems
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
Production experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server or similar
Experience with version control (Git) and agile development methodologies
Understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals
Professional level English
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., Azure Functions, AWS Lambda)
Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus)
Exposure to machine learning pipelines or data engineering using Python and / or Scala / Spark
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK, Prometheus, etc.)
Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code experience
Experience with geospatial datatypes (coordinate systems, raster, vector, point cloud, mesh)
Computer graphics and/or computer vision experience, in particular mesh or photogrammetry processing

About Your Location
The Trimble France Office is centrally located in Paris, close to the Joinville-le-Pont RER stop, 25 holidays/vacation, Health & Accident Insurance and competitive salary.
In this role, you will work with your manager to establish a mutually agreeable schedule for your time working in the office based on the position and the business need. Typically in-office positions allow 1 remote day per week, with the remainder of the days worked from a Trimble office.
