Software Engineer – Fusion

Position Overview

The Software Engineer will help build Autodesk Fusion, a cutting-edge platform for design and manufacturing professionals. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role focuses on hands-on implementation, agile development, and contributions to software architecture. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including product management, UX, and QA—the Software Engineer ensures delivery of high-quality, reliable software that aligns with Autodesk’s mission to provide continuous value to customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement features for Autodesk Fusion using modern programming practices.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.

  • Typical projects: Enhancing modeling capabilities, integrating cloud services, and improving application performance.

  • Technologies used: C++, Python, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development tools.

  • Role type: Individual contributor within a collaborative engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 1-3 years of professional software development experience.

  • Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and deliver high-quality results.

  • Travel: Minimal, primarily for team meetings or conferences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based architectures and distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software or design/manufacturing workflows.

  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.

  • Background in performance optimization and large-scale application development.

  • Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.
