The RHEL Installer team is looking for a software engineer to join our team in Brno, Czechia. In this role, you will be part of a team developing tools for operating system installation. Specifically, the team focuses on the Anaconda installer and its WebUI . The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the low-level aspects of the Linux operating system, knowledge of web technologies and a passion for modernization and innovation. You will work closely with other Red Hat Linux engineering teams, open source communities, key partners, strategic customers, and product managers, while embracing Red Hat’s unique culture and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Maintain and optimize the Anaconda OS installer
Maintain and optimize the Anaconda WebUI
Participate in the full development lifecycle, from design to release, including RPM packaging for CentOS Stream and RHEL systems
Communicate and collaborate with developers and teams inside and outside Red Hat
Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation
Develop and validate prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues, working closely with all stakeholders
Experience with Linux administration and a solid understanding of the Linux operating system
Proficiency in Python programming language
Knowledge of Javascript and web development is a huge plus
Expertise in using Git for version control
Proactive, collaborative team player with effective problem-solving skills
Competence in troubleshooting and debugging complex system issues
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Ansible
Familiarity with software testing, including unit and integration tests
Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
