The Role 

The Core Performance Engineering team is looking for a Data Analyst (P3) to help build, maintain, and analyze the performance data that underpins how we understand and improve the Anaplan platform. 

Performance is at the heart of everything we do at Anaplan. In this role, you will work closely with performance engineers and platform teams to collect, structure, and analyze large datasets from performance tests and production telemetry. 

Your work will help answer key questions such as: 

  • How does system performance change over time? 
  • Where are emerging bottlenecks in the platform? 
  • How do performance changes impact customers? 

You will be responsible for transforming complex performance data into clear insights, building reporting and dashboards, and helping engineering teams make better data-driven decisions about system performance and reliability. 

 

The Core Performance engineering team is looking for a mid-level data analyst to build, review, and maintain performance reporting as well as analysing how customers are impacted by performance-related factors. Performance and data is at the heart of everything we do at Anaplan, so we need someone who loves working with big data sets as well as has a passion for how customers use the platform and the impact of performance. 

Who are you? 

We are hiring one Senior (P3) Data Analyst to join the Performance Engineering team. 

A strong data analyst: 
You enjoy working with large datasets and uncovering meaningful insights. You are comfortable exploring complex telemetry and performance data to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends. 

Analytical and curious: 
You are interested in how systems behave and enjoy digging into technical data to understand the story behind it. 

Great communicator: 
You translate complex technical data into clear, well-written reports and dashboards that help engineers and leadership understand what is happening in the platform. 

Collaborative: 
You work closely with engineers and platform teams to ensure the right data is captured, structured, and available for analysis. 

Quality-driven: 
You care deeply about the accuracy and reliability of the data you work with, and you build analyses and reports that teams can trust. 

Your qualifications 

Core Experience 

  • Significant experience in data analysis, preferably within engineering or platform teams 
  • Experience working with large datasets and telemetry from complex systems 
  • Strong experience with data exploration and analysis using tools such as SQL, Python, or similar.  
  • Ability to identify trends, regressions, and anomalies in performance data 
  • Experience communicating key insights clearly to engineering teams and leadership 

Systems and Performance Data 

  • Experience analyzing performance data from software systems, infrastructure, or observability platforms 
  • Familiarity with metrics such as latency, throughput, resource utilization, and error rates 
  • Ability to build dashboards and reports that help engineering teams understand system performance over time 

Tech We Use 

Our performance data platform spans performance testing systems, CI pipelines, and observability tooling. 

Performance testing 

  • Java (many of our performance tests are written in Java and compiled into jMeter tests) 
  • jMeter 
  • BlazeMeter 
  • Grafana dashboards for both internal performance testing and production telemetry 
  • Cloud and on-premise systems running our platform and performance test environments 
  • Jenkins pipelines deeply integrated with our core platform delivery 
  • Large telemetry datasets generated by performance testing and production systems
