Software Engineer

ISR- Jerusalem (PQ) Full time

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to join our UI/UX development team in Jerusalem. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to grow professionally. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers in a supportive, collaborative environment, gaining hands-on experience developing robust client-side infrastructure components that power our user interfaces.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)

It would be great if you also had…

  • Basic to hands-on experience developing in Java (academic, internship, or professional)
  • Experience or familiarity with Angular or modern frontend frameworks
  • Up to 2 years of professional experience, or strong academic background with practical projects
  • Understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • An interest in building reusable UI components, design systems, and frontend architecture

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Participate in designing and implementing software solutions under the guidance of senior developers
  • Develop features across backend and frontend components
  • Assist with testing, bug fixing, performance improvements, and maintenance tasks
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Support teams to deliver high-quality features
  • Continuously learn best practices in software development, code quality, and system design

The product you will be developing

You will be part of the Platform Group, which houses our core infrastructure teams. Within this group, your team is responsible for building and maintaining the UI infrastructure for Alma — Clarivate’s industry-leading, cloud-based library services platform. You will be developing the essential client-side foundation and components that power the user interface for thousands of academic and research libraries worldwide.
