ISS STOXX is hiring for Backend Software Engineer – Data Products Team our Mumbai office.
Overview:
Join our Data Products team as an Backend Engineer, where you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of ISS DataDesk—a powerful screening and analytics platform for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, product managers, and QA teams to build scalable backend systems using modern technologies.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain high-quality, well-tested backend software for client-facing products and internal tools.
Support the design and evolution of data product architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end technical solutions.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Learn from senior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
Qualifications:
BE/BTech degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in backend development using Java 8+.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful web services.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
Exposure to containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is a plus.
Interest in functional programming languages is a bonus.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-paced environment.
