Software Engineer — Peer Community (Digital Product Technology)
This Software Engineer role is an individual contributor on one of three Scrum teams within the Peer Community product organization in Digital Product Technology (DPT). You will build and ship features across our mobile, web, and backend platforms, working alongside senior engineers and learning in a collaborative, high-quality engineering environment.

What you will do:
Build and maintain features across mobile, web, or backend platforms under the guidance of senior engineers and your team lead.
Take ownership of clearly scoped stories, delivering working software that meets acceptance criteria and quality standards.
Write clean, tested code and participate constructively in code review.
Participate in sprint ceremonies — planning, standup, review, and retrospective — and contribute actively to team discussions.
Learn and apply engineering best practices in testing, observability, and continuous delivery.
Contribute to documentation, bug fixes, and ongoing improvements to team-owned systems.
Communicate effectively with teammates and raise blockers or questions early.
What you will need:
Must have:
2+ years of professional software engineering experience building production software.
Working proficiency in at least one of: React/Next.js, React Native, Go — or strong foundational skills with demonstrated ability to ramp quickly.
Understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts: version control, testing, debugging, and code review.
A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have / opportunity to learn
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, or containerized deployments.
Familiarity with TypeScript, REST APIs, or GraphQL.
Prior experience working in agile/scrum delivery models.
Experience contributing to or maintaining a production mobile application.
