Job Summary

Job Description

DUTIES:                               Contribute to a team responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications; develop backend software in an Agile development environment using Go; perform unit testing using GoMock and GitHub Copilot; develop relational databases using MySQL; containerizing applications using Docker and Kubernetes; use AWS cloud services including AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Amazon Route 53, and AWS App Mesh; build CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Terraform, and Jenkins; analyze, test and assist with the integration of new applications; oversee the documentation of all development activity; train non-technical personnel; assist with tracking performance metrics; integrate knowledge of business and functional priorities; act as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment; may lead teams or projects and shares expertise; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; design new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customize current applications; develop software update processes for existing applications; assist in the roll-out of software releases; train junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications; oversee the researching, writing and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports; keep current with technological developments within the industry; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patent and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; assist in tracking and evaluating performance metrics; ensure team delivers software on time, to specification and within budget; and work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.

REQUIREMENTS:             Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and two (2) years of experience developing backend software in an Agile development environment using Go; performing unit testing using GoMock and GitHub Copilot; developing relational databases using MySQL; containerizing applications using Docker and Kubernetes; using AWS cloud services including AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Amazon Route 53, and AWS App Mesh; and building CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Terraform, and Jenkins.
